The Shoreline Amphitheater fundraiser for Grad Night (and
Jr. Prom) is in need of a new Chairperson or Co-chairs.(My youngest child is a senior this year, so
it is time for me to move on).The new
chairperson(s) may be from any class (9-12). If Grad Night does not have a new
chairperson by March, Leigh will lose their booth at Shoreline and other ways
to raise $10K will need to be explored.
The purpose of this fundraiser is to raise much-needed funds
for the annual Grad Night and Jr. Prom for 2010.(We have already completed the Shoreline
fundraiser in 2008 for the 2009 Grad Night and Jr. Prom.)The Shoreline fundraiser has been
successfully completed each year since 2004 by our Longhorn parents and even
volunteers that do not have students at Leigh.
Senior Grad Night is fully funded by ticket sales and
fundraising.Leigh volunteers have
earned for Grad Night an average of$10,000 each year from our Shoreline efforts.The Grad Night committee donates a portion of
the monies to the Jr. Prom committee to help offset their costs too.
This fundraiser begins with a commitment letter from Leigh
HS being sent to Shoreline in the month of March 2009.In April Shoreline provides training to
volunteers that are not currently certified, and concerts run from May thru
mid-October.The chairperson(s)
responsibilities involve scheduling volunteers for training, scheduling
volunteers to work concerts, and to track funds due from shoreline.
