 Meeting was opened by Roger Dellinger .

 

Attendance: Tiffany DeSantis, Joan Boel, Kathy Pearson~Nestle, Donna Hope, Caroline Citelli, Peter Kang, Naomi Mickelson, Virginia Jennings, Alan Prijatel, Shawn Mathew, Lisa Nunes, Jen Taylor, John Mote, Donna Santilli, Susan Shun~Maxwell, Roger Dellinger, Donna Gein~Logsdin, Cyntjia MacQuarrie, Sondra Hall, Kathleen Campbell, Michael Zaplitny, Sheri Shearin, Kim Coste, Suzanne Hunter.

 

Motions approved: Motion to approve May and June Minutes, all approved.

Motion to approve $1,200 to send kids to National Coalition building Institute,

All approved. Motion to approve $500 for T.O.P.S  (teens offer peer support) all approved. Motion to approve treasurer report, all approved

 

Treasurer Report: Kathy Campbell reviews budget for the 2008-2009 school year. Explains each line item! Thank you Kathy J

 

Principal Report: Donna shares with us that we have 8 new faculty members. Also she passes out the W.A.S.C action plan. We have a new program being introduced this year called T.O.P.S ( teens offer peer support ) it is a mentor support group, there is currently 29 teens to reach out to other students. Donna would like to send both teachers and students to a training seminar called National Coalition Building Institute.

 

Teacher Representative: John will invite a few teachers each month to come to the HSC meetings to share with us a little about themselves, so the parents and teachers can get to know one another. Back to school night was great turnout!

 

COMMITTEE REPORTS

 

College/Career~

Off to a great start over 150 peoples signed up for PSAT test for October 18th.

Senior college night is scheduled for September 29th at 6:30pm. SAT testing will be offered in October.

 

Escrip~

Collected over $800 this past summer.

 

Grad Night~

Looking for a place close to home and has everything Merced had!

Hospitality~

Donna organized a Freshman coffee welcome for new parents. Provided desserts for back to school night, and breakfast for teachers the day after back to school night. This year there is close to 100 parent volunteers for Donna to call on for help J .

 

Leadership~

The Homecoming theme is “Do Work:. Leadership is conducting a costume donation drive. All donations will be distributed to children throughout the community. There is a club fair scheduled for the end of September.

 

Registration~

Cynthia MacQuarrie reports registration went 4 days and went well. There was a long wait for students to take pictures, maybe get 4 photographers next year.
