Motions approved:
Treasurer report, motion to approve, all approved.
Grant Request from Social Studies department for "Elmo Doc Reader" $760 ea, motion to approve to buy 2, all approve.
Grant Requst from Social Studies for "Touchstone volume 2 teacher and student editions" asking for 18 books for $488.10. Motion to approve, all approve.
To help offset teacher's expenses, Leigh to get a PO @ Office Depot for $100 each teacher. motion to approve, all approve.

Treasurer Report:
Treasurer report distributed to all present, Review budget, Escrip dropped dramatically last year.

Representative Reports

Principal Report:
Donna Hope reports there will be no summer school next year, as a result from state budget cuts. The teachers will no longer be using AERIES for grades/communication to parents. School loop has taken its place, please be patient as the teachers learn the new system. Students need to register their car with the student service center and get a parking sticker to park their car on campus. Need to park in the appropriate spot, tickets will be issued after 1 warning. Leigh is creating 2 new drop off student parking. There was a ground breaking ceremony this week for the new performing arts center. Construction on locker rooms has begun boys first than girls. WASC comes back next year for a one day visit.

Student Body Report:
Updated us on accomplishments, assisted in Senior sunrise, school dances and helped with registration and have set good goals!

Teacher Rep:
John Mote reports 6 week grades approaching. Freshman students are adjusting to high school. There was a fire drill this week. Back to school night went very well good turnout.

Committee Reports

Membership:
Cynthia Macquarrie said HSC received more than $25,495 from registration! Sent out thank you notes to those who donated $100 or more. We have less volunteers on most committees this year.

Hospitality:
Donna Santilli and Eileen Karkas report they will have their 1st staff luncheon in November. Have had 5 events already! All went very well.

College/Career:
Purchase of reference material has been made. Plan on going to UC conference. College visits being scheduled to come here to Leigh. New volunteers are welcome and encouraged.

SAC:
First meeting is scheduled for September 21st, from 7-9pm in the library. Everyone who wants to be involved is welcome. Anyone who has questions can call Janet Kohl 859.8541.

Shoreline:
Sharon Lincoln is running the program all proceeds goes towards grad night and prom night. Our goal is to make $12,000.

ESCRIP:
Todd Mendenhal signed up for Escrip. There has been a significant drop from last year. There will be a $100 contest for new subscribers.

Parent Education:
Sherri Shearin reports a possible speaker on "Kids safe on campus". Also may have a 17yr old come talk to the  students/parents about drunk driving.

PAPA:
Marching band season is in full swing. They are at all home football games, performing and pep band. First PAPA meeting 9/14/09. Two upcoming fund raisers: 9/29 Giant Leigh rummage sale and 10/13Ewaste drop off Leigh Parking lot.
